On Saturday, December 16, 2023, United Spartans, under the direction of Mrs. Kertoy and Mrs. McCullough, honored fallen veterans with Wreaths Across America Jeannette by placing wreaths upon soldier’s graves. Mrs. Kertoy said, “It was an incredible afternoon honoring fallen veterans in the area”. She indicated that the students made her very proud.
Students helped to lay over 1,200 wreathes between two cemeteries in Jeannette. In focusing their holiday efforts on giving back to the community, United Spartans hopes to create waves of kindness across Hempfield Area School District and Westmoreland County.
