From February 10-February 13, United Spartans hosted their traditional Kindness Week, filled with compliment cards, fun activities, and theme days. Many students deal with stress of academics, sports, or just general life, and a small act of kindness can make their day or even their week better. When people choose kindness, the school becomes a safer and more welcoming place for everyone. Last week helped build stronger friendships, improved the school environment, and encouraged students to treat others with respect, not just during the week but everyday.
To kick off the week, the first theme was Color Wars, where Sophomores wore white, Juniors wore red, and Seniors wore pink to show off the Valentine’s day colors. The hallways were filled with bright colors that made the school feel more cheerful and welcoming. Each color helped represent kindness, love, and positivity, reminding students to treat one another with respect and care. This simple theme showed how something small, like wearing a color, can help spread kindness and create a positive atmosphere throughout the school. Small acts of kindness were also shared through compliment cards that were made by United Spartans and given to the staff of the high school.
On Wednesday, the next theme was Wild About Kindness, where students wore animal print or camo to show that being kind is something to be proud of. The fun outfits made the school feel more exciting and brought energy to the day. This theme reminded students that kindness can stand out even when it seems easier to follow the crowd. Along with that, United Spartans also hosted a fun activity called “Wild Goose Chase,” where they hid over 50 small geese around the school, and if students found one, they would receive a treat.
To follow up, on Thursday, the theme was Team Up for Kindness, where students wore jerseys to show to show the importance of teamwork. The different jerseys throughout the school showed that even though students may be on different teams or play different sports, everyone can work together to spread kindness. This theme reminded students to encourage others, support one another, and include students who may feel left out. Just like on a team, kindness means helping others succeed and being there for each other.
The last theme for Kindness Week was Be a kind Spartan, where students wore school spirit to show pride in our school. Wearing school colors and Spartan gear reminded students that being a Spartan is not just about supporting teams but also about how we treat each other. Showing school spirit created a more positive and friendly environment. We are all Spartans and all in this together.
Overall, this week reminds us that kindness should not only be practiced during theme days a school but also in our everyday lives. We can show kindness by being respectful to others, helping people when they need it, and choosing to be patient and understanding. Simple actions like saying thank you, including others, or simply offering help can make a big difference. When we make kindness a daily habit, we help create a more positive environment not just at school, but in our homes, communities and everywhere we go.
