Dig for Diamonds is a charity event that is associated with Mini-Thon to raise money for pediatric cancer. Unfortunately, due to weather, the initial event was cancelled. Mrs. Testa the event organizer was definitely disappointed, but she says, “it was better to be safe than sorry.” Luckily, the event was rescheduled for Sunday, February 16.
On Sunday, Greensburg Salem and Hempfield Area Teams came together to engage in some friendly competition but more so, to raise money for pediatric cancer. Hempfield Area Team Nunnie came out on top winning the volleyball tournament. Testa says, “I think it was our best year yet. Everyone seemed to have a good time, and it yielded a good profit.”
Everyone is looking forward to the main event on March 28. Spectators can come to participate in community hours, engaging in our basket raffle and listening to our guest speakers. Community members can also donate to Donor Drive. The year long project takes much effort, but students know that together, we can make a difference.
