January 14th marked Alpha Omega’s next chapter. The organization, more familiarly known as the National English Honor Society, inducted 86 new members. The evening celebrated students who have demonstrated academic excellence in English and Language Arts classes.
Alpha Omega is more than an academic achievement. The motto of NEHS is “duty goes with honor” and it is guided by three pillars: academics, leadership, and service. The main focus of the group is increasing literacy in the school and community, as well as other community outreach activities, making meaningful impacts both inside and outside the classroom. So far, Alpha Omega has hosted or participated in 4 events this school year and plans to double the number throughout the new semester.

Now totaling to 173 members, the induction ceremony recognized students for their accomplishments and officially welcomed new inductees into an honor society that values collaboration and giving back.
Alpha Omega is incredibly excited to see how the new inductees will contribute throughout the rest of the year and in the years to come. With a growing number of participants each year, the future of the National English Honor Society at Hempfield Area surely looks promising.
