December is always a busy month for United Spartans and this year is no different. With several events lined up, there were so many opportunities to give back, support the community, and spread a little extra kindness this holiday season!
The month started off with Fort Allen Elementary’s annual Dinner With Santa on December 11. From nail and face painting to dinner help, the night was certainly a success. United Spartans played a big role in making the night special for the kids and their families!
On December 12, the very next day, United Spartans joined up with Big Brothers Big Sisters for their Holiday Party at the Laurellville Event Center. Volunteers ran stations for games, crafts, and face painting, helping to create a magical night for the kids! United Spartans looks forward to working with Big Brothers Big Sisters every year, and they surely lived up to the expectations again.
To end off the three-day streak, volunteers attended Wreaths Across America at Jeanette Memorial Park on December 13. Starting at noon, the ceremony began. Afterward, everyone joined together to help lay over 1,000 wreaths at the cemetery for fallen veterans. Despite the chilly weather, it was a beautiful experience in honoring those who served.
Even if you missed out on these events, there are still chances to get involved! One Saturday each month, from October to May, is the Our Lady of Grace Food Drive. Volunteers come early in the morning to offer support for those in need. The ongoing efforts from United Spartans members has been a powerful way to make an impact, in and out of school.
Whether it is festive celebrations or chances to serve, United Spartans provides opportunities to get involved! December was an awesome month of giving back and was a great reminder of what the club is all about.
