The final countdown has begun. Just two months and three days are left until the big number is revealed.
Three years ago, Mini-THON reemerged as an initiative for Hempfield Area seniors to collaborate together to do something bigger than they can do alone. The impact has been significant when it comes to dollars but even more when it comes to awareness. The fight against pediatric cancer is one that no one should have to face alone, and by being educated and engaging in this process, our student body has officially joined in on the fight.
For the first eight months of school, students raise money to go towards pediatric cancer research funding. Students collect donations in many ways including canning, DonorDrive, cash/check donations, raffles, and events. Events include the Gold Out Football and Basketball Games, Dig 4 Diamonds Volleyball Tournament, Color Run, Pep Assemblies, Spooktacular, and Hempfield Night Out. Upcoming events include Stall Day and Push Week.
The main event, which takes place on March 28, 2025, goes on for twelve hours. Students are encouraged to remain standing the whole time as it represents the fight that children go through when battling cancer. As the event approaches, we need your help!
