The Perfect Pick

MB Prom Store
The+Perfect+Pick

Located at, 123 S Urania Ave, Greensburg, PA 15601, MB Bride and Special Occasions store has been the go to store for proms and weddings for over 30 years. Many of my friends have been there and talked about what a lovely place it was. When I recently went to shop for a prom dress, I was excited to see what all the hype was about.

There is so much history to how MB Prom Store came to be. Originating in 1991, Modern Bride was owned by the Pederson family. At the time, there were only 45 total dresses at the store and two employees. The store grew attention very quickly and became popular. The name Modern Bride unfortunately did not last long due to copying another company name and in 1995 the store officially became MB Bride & Special Occasion, -MB standing for “most beautiful.”

Around 2004, the store was gaining so much attention and business that a space upgrade was needed. As a result, MB Bride was relocated into the old Greensburg Lumber store.  The new store was a hit, and soon after in 2006, the MB Prom Store was added. Along the way of making MB Bride and Prom a welcoming place, from 2012-2022  many  additions were made such as new fitting rooms, alterations department, new phone system, new computer system, adding a new main desk area, new carpet, colors, lights, and revamped tuxedo store.

Now, MB Bride and Prom is a very successful bridal and prom store with over 500 bridal dresses and over 800 bridesmaid dresses.

I had the opportunity to go in and try on prom dresses for this years prom, and it was such an amazing experience. If you are looking for a nice, comforting environment this is definitely the place for you. Walking in, you are greeted at the main desk and directed to the area where you will find the dress you are looking for. My friends and I did not make appointment and were taken to the prom dress section, signed in, and got right to looking around. (We fortunately did not have to wait, but it is still highly recommended to schedule an appointment). Although it was pretty busy, the store is very big and did not feel crowded or overwhelming. We each picked out five dresses out of the hundreds of options, and the floor helpers took the dresses and assisted us throughout the process.

We had such a great time seeing what styles we liked and had so much help from the employees. Everyone there had such a positive attitude and made our experience so much better. Even though I did not leave with a dress, I will definitely be going back.
