Holidays at Harrold

As 2023 begins its gradual end, and people find themselves feeling the magic of the holiday season, students and teachers at Harrold School begin to voice their opinions on the holiday traditions that are just being born.

Looking around at just the hallways, it is clear to us the amount of effort that the teachers are making to optimize the holiday spirit for our student body. Between the dangling holiday lights and brightly colored trees, the students certainly are feeling at home in this school for the holidays.

One of our Harrold students, Abby Wynert, was especially pleased with the efforts being made to promote the valuable holiday spirit. Wynert said, “I really love the lights. It makes me so happy to see them everyday I come to school.” Most of the students agree with her statement. It is important to have little things like lights, trees, and decorations to uplift the lives of our ninth grade class. As Wynert said, it brings joy to those who walk through our halls, and that happiness that comes from these times is something that is unable to be matched.

Mrs. Fetterman was able to provide us with a different point of view on the way the staff is going about our Christmas at Harrold School. Mrs. Fetterman, whose room is lit up from head to toe in bright lights, made it clear to us how much she values this time of year. She says, “I love seeing the lights in the hallways. It makes my day brighter, I hope it makes the kids’ days brighter.” This is a perfect way to highlight the merriness that has made its way all throughout Harrold. She also notes the way that our clubs are taking the initiative to take charge as well. “Student council is doing a ton to prepare for the last day before break. Our student store has teamed up with Baking Club to sell some themed milkshakes for this month.”

It seems that Harrold is doing a stellar job at promoting the joyousness that this holiday has to bring. Between the lights, decor, and events being set up for the students, we are experiencing a feeling like no other. Hopefully the traditions continue as this ninth grade school continues to evolve.
