When Amy Fiaschetti acquired her empty space in downtown Greensburg, the idea of Moss and Rain was simply a dream. Now Fiaschetti can proudly say that her dream had become a reality, rewarding her each step of the way.
After the death of her loving husband and retirement, Fiaschetti decided a new journey in her life was needed. As a lover of fashion and community, Fiaschetti saw owning a boutique as a fantastic opportunity to grow the community of Greensburg all while offering amazing clothes at reasonable prices. With the help of close friends and her daughters’ Madison and Rachel, the inspiration for the boutique’s name, Moss and Rain was born!
A month before opening, Moss and Rain was still a thought. Once the building was ready, the real work began. For weeks Fiaschetti and her crew worked on setting the place up, which included ordering, storing, steaming, and hanging clothes. In a very short amount of time, this whole project was off the ground.
Moss and Rain first opened their doors on April 18, welcoming the people of Greensburg to browse specially selected clothing, accessories, and locally made items. Guests were welcomed with refreshments from a local coffee bar and the first 120 customers received a complementary coffee as a part of the evening’s festivities. Cookies were also available throughout the night to provide guests a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Along with the celebration, customers were able to take advantage of special opening-night promotions including a 20% discount on their purchases. Attendees could also enter a raffle featuring a Bog Bag filled with $100 worth of store merchandise. The combination of shopping, refreshments, and giveaways helped create an energetic atmosphere, drawing strong community support for the boutiques’ first night in Greensburg.
