Starting a new series always comes with a mix of curiosity and doubt. Will it grab your attention right away or take a few episodes to prove its worth the binge? In this article, I take a look at the first episodes of four different shows on four different streaming services to see if they’re worth your time. After watching them, I gave my ratings and first impressions to help decided each show is worth continuing.
The first show I watched was Greenhouse Academy on Netflix. The show makes a strong impression with its emotional storytelling, even if it moves at a slower pace than some viewers might prefer. It focuses on themes like family drama, mystery, new beginnings, and the grief of losing a loved one, which adds depth and repeatability to the story. While I found parts of it a little boring at times, the characters and the plot kept me interested overall. If you enjoy slower paced shows that take time to build emotion and connections, this could be a great fit for you. I would rate the first episode a 4 out of 5 stars for its heartfelt approach and meaningful themes. Its not something I would binge all at once, but I would definitely continue watching it over time.
The second show I watched was Supernatural on Prime Video. I would suggest checking out the first episode if you enjoy thrillers, mysteries, and drama. It starts off strong with tension and suspense, and he story builds in a way that keeps your curious about what will happen next. He characters have complicated relationships connected to their past, which makes the drama more intense. I would rare this show a 4 out of 5 stars because its very interesting, even though it has a few slower moments. After just one episode, it seems like he kind of show I would finish quickly compared to others.
The third show I watched was Wonder Man on Disney+. I would recommend checking this show out because it immediately pulls you in with a suspenseful and emotional beginning. It follows a guy who is struggling to manage his acting career while trying to land roles, all while strange things happen around him that hint he may have superpowers he doesn’t know about. He episode does a great job balancing everyday problems with unusual moments, making it both relatable and exciting. It ends on a cliffhanger, leaving you curious about what happens next. I would give this episode a 5 out of 5 because its engaging, well told, and a very binge worthy show.
The last show I watched was a documentary about Princess Diana on HBO Max. I was very interesting to learn about her life and her impact on the world. The episode went into detail about her early years and how she became such a well known figure. It shared a lot of information I didn’t know before, making it enjoyable for anyone who likes learning new things. At some points, it felt a little slow and slightly boring, especially when I focused on small details for a long time. Because of this, I would give i a 3 out of 5 stars. Overall, its still a good documentary and worth watching if you’re interested in history and real life stories.
Overall, each show offered something different from emotional storytelling to suspense and real life history. Some shows stood out more than others, especially in how quickly they grabbed my attention and kept me interested. While a few had slower moments, they all had qualities that could appeal to different types of viewers. Weather you enjoy drama, mystery, action, or documentaries, there’s something here for everyone. In the end, trying the first episode is a greats way to decided what’s worth your time and maybe even find your next favorite show.
