The Liberation of Girls’ Shoulders

The+Liberation+of+Girls%E2%80%99+Shoulders

Trapped. Caged. Confined. For 30 long years, the shoulders of young women have felt like this because of a strict dress code within the school. With rules being dropped such as the “no shoulder” rule, students around the school have already taken advantage of this. Girls now have the freedom to wear strapless tops to feel the best that they can.

Junior Kennedy Nelson is all for it as she comments “I think it is good that girls can now wear strapless tops because there is no reason why we shouldn’t be able to.”

Sophomore Cooper Santangelo remarks “ I am okay with this released rule because now they can feel they aren’t as targeted with dress coding rules compared to guys.”

And senior Emily Griffith states “I don’t see an issue with girls being able to wear strapless tops. I think you should be able to wear whatever makes you feel good.”

It seems that the majority agree with strapless tops, and it was a great change for the better! So on behalf of our shoulders, I have one word… freedom!

Junior Mia Vento’s shoulders are feeling extra liberated during school.
