Behind every local business is a team working together to make a difference in the community. From the moment customers walk into Beeghly and Co. Jewelers, they are welcomed by warm smiles and elegant jewelry. Located at 401 South Main Street in Downtown Greensburg, the business is known for their jewelry pieces and restoring jewelry and has become a popular place for anyone to enjoy. What makes them stand out is the quality of their products and the protectiveness of other peoples jewelry that needs to be restored.
Beeghly and Co. Jewelers opened in 1982 in Somerset but started operating in Greensburg in 1997. It was started when owner, Amy Beeghly collaborated with another jewelry expert. They were ready to expand beyond Somerset so they bought a jewelry store that just closed down in Greensburg and made it their own.
Their mission was to create a place where people not only can buy elegant and beautiful jewelry but where individuals can take cherished pieces to be refurbished and made new. This sets them apart because not only do they create beautiful pieces to sell, but they can fix and upgrade dated jewelry.
Beeghly and Co. Jewelers has a warm, modern, and inviting atmosphere. Inside, customers can see all the wonderful and timeless pieces of jewelry, friendly smiles, and memories being made. This creates a welcoming environment for not only the customers but the employees as well. From the in-house workshop to the custom pieeces, customers can expect excellent service the second they walk into the store.
More, they have gave a long lasting impact on the community by helping host different events in Greensburg. The owner, Amy Beeghly, is the Head of the Greensburg Business and Professional Association which is a non profit corporation that promotes local business, their products, and their services.
Two events are coming up soon! On June 13th, community members can help celebrate America’s 250th and help honor the past and future. Then, on August 9th-11th, they will celebrate Dog Days of Summer, where owners can nominate dogs and cats to be the pet ambassador for Greensburg. Winners will be announced on August 21st.
Beeghly and Co, jewelers has not only made an impact on the community but also an impact on students. Through the Greensburg Business and Professional Association, they oversee multiple internships with Pitt, Saint Vincent, and Seton Hill. Another way students can get involved is by sending them reviews and trying new pieces.
Amy’s business venture was not without challenges, especially during covid when they had to shutdown. This caused them to lose staff and have to train new members. Another big challenge for them are the high tariffs because most of their non in house materials are shipped overseas, but they’ve been able to manage but doing their own manufacturing and sticking together. They love seeing the change with the different generations, especially now as people come back to the small town to support small businesses.
Local businesses, like Beeghly and Co. Jewelers, play an important role in the Greensburg Community by creating jobs, bringing people together, and providing a wonderful experience for customers. Supporting local businesses helps strengthen the community. We are so thankful for this gem in our Greensburg community.
