As we begin to near the yearly Keystone exams, feelings start to rise to the surface of fear and worry. It is common for people to feel nervous or stressed when such a big test is just around the corner.
While many students feel jitters when it comes to testing, Jackson Deyo encourages others to enter the test with a positive attitude. He says students have been “prepared for Biology Keystones.”
Even though Maddie Domasky claims she isn’t good at Biology, she thinks she will pass the test.
Likewise, Noah Helfrich states, “I feel super prepared. I’m not just going to pass them, I am going to [score] advanced.”
Keystone week is really important for the district, as it can show how well our students are doing with the tested subjects of Algebra, Biology, and Literature. At Harrold, students will take Algebra or Biology exams.
Teachers are working hard to prepare the students while showcasing efforts to help them feel more relaxed and confident. In addition to using test taking strategies in each of their classes, students at both the high school and Harrold School have heard positive announcements and will received snacks on the day of the exam. These efforts are sure to help our students feel a little less intimidated and more confident moving forward.
Good luck to all of our students testing. Let’s Rise in the Rankings, Hempfield Area.
