Renaissance Man

High school is kind of like a buffet. There’s so much to choose from. Sometimes you want to jump right into the main course. Sometimes you want to go straight for dessert. If you’re Benny Kudrick, you sample everything and you enjoy it all.

From music to academics to even being Hempfield’s homecoming king, Benny Kudrick’s plate is full. But, he added one more item to that plate as he took the stage in this spring’s musical, The Addams Family. He said that it was “a really fun show overall. The people are awesome and fit their roles well.”

Benny has been in theater since fourth grade, and that’s not his only talent. According to Benny, he is very proud of his “refined knowledge of the school.” He also acclaims one of his greatest accomplishments as being awarded a national merit commended scholar. This award is granted to about 1 in every 1.5 million students who score in the top 50,000 on the PSAT.

Participating in many competitions and events, including Creative Convention, Science Bowl, Propaganda, Quiz Team, Geo Bowl, Word Master, and Model UN, Benny is very involved in the enrichment program here at Hempfield.

In his little amount of free time, he enjoys speaking Spanish, drawing, and playing music. All around, Benny is a great, well-rounded student and one of the most involved here at Hempfield.
