For The Love Of Love

The month of February is known as the season of love. But what is love to some people? Is it a feeling about a person? Or could love be anything? We asked the students of Hempfield Area High School what love means to them, and the responses did not disappoint.

“Love is to see them everywhere even when you aren’t with them.” – Loren Schmidt

“Love is when Calculus is over.” – Malea Nadeo

“Love is feeling like you’re home.” – Miah Bentz

“Love is when you look at someone truly different than anyone else.” – Quentin Pettinato

“Love is the experiences you want to share with someone.” – Alyssa Manderach

“Love is caring for someone more than you care for yourself.” – Kayden Phillips

“Loving someone for today is a feeling, loving someone for tomorrow is a choice, loving someone them for always is a mixture of the two weaved effortlessly and with great toil of heart.” – Mrs. Testa

As we celebrate, its clear love means somehing differently to all, and yet it is a universal feeling that we can all understand.

Quentin Pettinato is seventeen years old and a senior at Hempfield Area High School. He is also a soccer varsity captain. He enjoys watching UFC and movies with his friends whenever he can. Quentin's passion for journalism emerged from watching sports reporters. He plans go to college to major in history and minor in English after he graduates from Hempfield Area.

Miah Bentz, Editor-in-Chief

Miah Bentz is a senior at Hempfield Area High school who enjoys sharing positive and uplifting stories with her community. She loves volleyball and anything artsy. In her free time she enjoys hanging out with her friends and family. A quote that she lives by is, "Everyday is an opportunity to become a better version of yourself."

Abby Harvey, Contributor

Abby has been attending the Hempfield Area School District for 12 years. From a young age, she has had a passion for writing. She loves going on adventures with her friends and family, finding a new experience everyday! It's even better when she gets to write about it. She loves to watch live sports, more specifically the fantastic Friday Night Lights and hockey! She looks forward to providing Hempfield with stories to inform and entertain! She lives by the lyric "Let it be, then let it go" from the song East Side of Sorrow by Zach Bryan.
