Eight Spartans Named To All-Conference Team

For the 2023 season, Hempfield football had eight players voted to the 5a Big East All-Conference team. Senior Captain Keiran Lippman was named as a First Team All-Conference defensive back for his exceptional play at Safety for the Spartans. The Second Team All-Conference was represented by Senior captain Joe Dolinksi, for guard, Senior Lucas Moore, for linebacker, Senior Josh Riley, for kicker, and Junior Owen Buchholz, for defensive back. Sophomores Dom Detruf (quarterback), Nick Marquis (linebacker), and Brock Heisler (defensive line), were named as Honorable Mentions. Congratulations to all eight of our Hempfield Spartan football players who were given these honors.

Owen Buchholz is a senior journalist and an athlete. He is a letterman and is on the leadership council for the varsity football team. Off the field, Owen has a 3.8 GPA and dreams of becoming a sports journalist or analyst for ESPN. This is Owen's second year as a part of The Hempfield Area Royal. In his free time, he loves to watch movies and play golf with his younger brother. His favorite movie is Scent of a Woman and his favorite actor is Matt Damon. Owen loves listening to music. His favorite era of music is the early 2000s and loves listening to Bruno Mars. His favorite song is Beautiful Girls by Sean Kingston. During the year, Owen works as a busboy for Sforno in Jeanette. Owen loves to eat. His favorite meal is his mother's homemade beef stroganoff.
