Fort Allen Elementary school hosted their 13th annual Holiday Games. The event was held at the elementary school on Dec 7th. Mrs Kertoy and the United Spartans from the High School joined in to help out.
The Holiday Games were introduced to Fort Allen in 2008 with Ms. Rebon taking charge of the event. Rebon was thrilled with the High School volunteer turn out. “So many of them were former Fort Allen students, so I was especially proud to see them return for an opportunity to volunteer.” Ms. Rebon spent much time and preparation to make the event fun for students and to raise money to then donate to charity.
The holiday games consisted of 15 carnival games all different and unique for the kids to play, with face painting as well.
The teachers and parents helping out were happy to hear that they had fund raised $1,100 after covering expenses. This year’s event supported St. Jude’s research and Relay for Life. In the past, the event has supported organizations like Water Well for Haiti, Heal Animal Rescue, and Children’s Hospital, just to list a few.
The Holiday Games tradition continues to be a great event for all the students and volunteers alike bringing everyone together for exceptional causes.
