A Legacy of Dominance

When you think of Kapusta, you think of wrestling. Starting with Brian Kapusta, who was a phenomenal wrestler at North Dakota State University, followed by Lucas Kapusta, a wrestler at Lock Haven university, and now completing that legacy, is the youngest wrestler in the family, Nico Kapusta.

On Saturday, February 14, Nico got his 100th win. Nico states, “It was a great accomplishment, and it was a sense of relief from all the hard work I’ve put in throughout my career.”

Wrestling is a draining and tough sport. That’s why milestones aren’t handed out; they are earned through sacrifice, discipline, and hard work. Kapusta has worked his entire life to be the best wrestler, teammate, and captain that he could be. He has been a three year captain of the wrestling team, pushing his teammates everyday to see them succeed and leading by example, showing what being a student athlete means. He certainly deserved this milestone, but he doesn’t just credit himself; he also credits his partners Nate Caracciolo and Brody Wilson for pushing him everyday in practice.

100 wins in wrestling is a rare accomplishment; this sets Nico Kapusta apart in a small group of elite wrestlers. As the season continues, Kapusta is focusing on his next goal, placing at the PIAA state tournament. While his drive to thrive is evident as he progresses forward always, we stop for a congratulatory pause as he reached this rare feat of 100 wins at 100%.
