The Harrold School Dance was one of a kind. The United Spartans club at Harrold sponsors the winter semi-formal, which started last year. Mrs. Haile and Mrs. Surma, along with the club members chose the theme of masquerade for this year’s dance.
All students had their choice of a mask to wear if they didn’t bring their own. Most students arrived decked out in dresses, suits, and even a couple of masquerade costumes. They were able to pose for pictures under a balloon arch and play cornhole.
The dance was for about two hours in total, with music, snacks and drinks students could buy, and dancing. During the dance, there were many people singing along to the music, and there was even a point where the DJ, Mrs. Ali, started doing the worm.
It was a blast as everyone congregated in the cafeteria for one big bash. Time flew by, making it seem like mere seconds. By the end of it, they were passing out the balloons. If students wanted a balloon, they were allowed to take as many as you wanted home. Overall, we would call the dance a definite success.
